Document summary

For most of us just having a hospital appointment is enough to worry about but imagine having to make the journey alone, in chronic pain and having to take three different buses to get there. This is the reality for many of the older people we have heard from. That’s why Age UK is calling on the Government to urgently review the way older people travel to their hospital appointments. This report outlines how poor and inadequate transport options impact on older people travelling to hospital for non-emergency medical treatment. We also propose a series of ideas for how the system could work better
