Document summary

In October 2013, responsibility for approving and monitoring train and station operators’
disabled people’s protection policies (DPPPs) transferred to us from the Department for
Transport (DfT). Since then, we have been engaging with stakeholders, including operators
and groups representing those with disabilities to understand how well the current arrangements work and the role of DPPPs in supporting confident use of the railway. This statement sets out our approach to our approval and monitoring role following this engagement.
