Ncat were delighted to attend Motability Foundation’s ‘Big Event’ in Harrogate on the 9th and 10th August. This was one of four annual nationwide events giving people the opportunity to see and experience everything available on the Motability Scheme. Attendees were able to see over 65 cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and adaptations as well as more than 35 scooters.

With over four thousand visitors over two days, we were able to engage with many scheme members to better understand their experiences and to give them the opportunity to sign up to the our CAT panel. The aim of the panel is to consult with disabled people on their experience of accessing transport in the UK, so ncat can record a full picture of how disabled people use (or don’t use) transport and why. This is so the Centre can then go on to make recommendations and instigate change in how the transport systems in the UK should become more accessible.

It was a successful event. Many thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello. If you also want to sign up to the panel you can do so here Share your experiences to make transport more accessible  – National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat.uk)
